Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and musician who made her name with smart raps that addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a an edgy, comical perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical experience. She performed on the trumpet. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop as a teen. While in her schooling, she specialized in journalism and woman's studies. She studied Mandarin during a time in Beijing. It wasn't until she graduated that she start focusing on music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet sensation and featured in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. It also included viral hits including body positive Queef & winking home tour NYC BitcheUSD. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in the year 2015, and was a different idea. A musician and author was in her portfolio, she decided to began looking for a third endeavor actor. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies like Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land major roles in a variety of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her EP "In Fina We Trust".
